Your Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is more than just an NCAA by-law requirement. This group of student-athletes can be a powerful communication and collaboration tool for your athletics department.
But too often SAACs are poorly organized and managed, leading to missed opportunities to engage student-athletes in meaning projects and experiences. Many SAACs focus on a lone community service project each year, and meet regularly to simply share updates about their team. Oh, and usually for free pizza, too (the incentive for actually coming to meetings).
How can SAAC become more effective?
In this webinar you’ll learn strategies to increase engagement and leverage the role of your SAAC, including:
- Defining the role of SAAC
- What an effective and engaged SAAC looks like, and accomplishes
- Setting and achieving goals
- How to increase student-athlete engagement
- Identifying meaningful contributions
- Establishing an accountability model that works
- Customizing and tailoring a plan for your campus
